Dns not updating records
When the DHCP Server service is installed on a domain controller, it inherits the security permissions of the domain controller. The service also has the authority to update or delete any DNS record that is registered in a secure Active Directory-integrated zone.So if i will revert the changes back to the one which you mention so again the previous issue will come into the picture.pls help Let me explain more on my issue :-Have two DC's server A and Server B , on both the server DHCP and DNS is configured below Server AScope - 192.168.2.0Address pool- 192.168.2.50 - 10.5.2.150Scope - 192.168.4.0Address Pool - 192.168.4.50 - 192.168.4.150Server BScope - 192.168.2.0Address Pool- 192.168.2.151 - 192.168.2.250Scope - 192.168.4.0Address Pool - 192.168.4.151 - 192.168.4.250So can say i distributed the load. The dedicated user account should be created in the forest where the primary DNS server for the zone to be updated resides. The dedicated user account can also be located in another forest.
After making the settings things worked, but at that time i havenot check the PTR records. However, the forest that the account resides in must have a forest trust established with the forest that contains the primary DNS server for the zone to be updated. When the DHCP Server service is installed on a domain controller, you can configure the DHCP server by using the credentials of the dedicated user account to prevent the server from inheriting, and possibly misusing, the power of the domain controller. And if I assign a static IP computer then HOST A and associated PTR record getting created.
DNS server does not have any error message on the Event Viewer. my suggestion, or configure workstation dns to do the update. Update: I was apparently too slow in my response since I was responding to #2 and hadn't seen #3Split scope dhcp huh?
Rebooted the machine in safe mode with networking and then tried registering its ip address it failed.7.
