Dining room updating
Checking emails, and peeking in at my friends and family’s lives through their shared pictures and comments on instagram, not to mention, sharing my own tidbits of daily life.
I found myself following several people I had never heard of before instagram but was drawn to simply for their design style and photography.
It’s been awhile since I’ve made any major updates to our home.
Designer Trish Beaudet created this elegant and romatic dining space with a golden chandelier over the glass and wood table set with candles and a floral centerpiece, golden drapery and a complementary rug, and a large pedestal urn with flowers by the window.I typically stay away from Pinterest, catalogs and my favorite shops when I know it’ll just make me want to change things I can’t do any time soon, but instagram is another story.I am on my phone close to every waking hour of my day.I mention this, because that is where the inspiration for this update struck me.
It’s nothing new, and it seems to be everywhere right now, but horizontal planked walls seemed to be all over my instagram feed, as is the fact that everyone seems to want to paint all the walls in their homes white. But it made the walls that were still in the old paint color look really yellow. So when Josh left to go on a business trip for the week, I decided to grab the primer and just go for it… And I love the way the wood tones add warmth and depth. Please excuse the grainy cell phone pictures with mostly horrible lighting throughout this entire post.
