Sometimes the paranioa is associated with excessive use of caffeen and nicotine as a stimulant, and the resultant lack of sleep can make for worse daytime awareness.Be very careful with Paxil as there are some extreme withdrawl effects after missing only a few doses. They generally engage in eccentric behavior and have difficulty concentrating for long periods of time.Their speech is often over elaborate and difficult to follow. The disorder is characterized by odd forms of thinking and perceiving, and individuals with this disorder often seek isolation from others. They sometimes believe to have extra sensory ability or that unrelated events relate to them in some important way.

But Schizoid, (from what I understand) is apparently considered to be a personality disorder that is not related to schizophrenia, (although it may cause some of the same symptoms).

Symptoms of Schizotypal Personality Disorder:-Odd or eccentric mannerisms or appearance -Superstitious or preoccupied with paranormal phenomena -Difficult to follow speech patterns -Feelings of anxiety in social situations -Suspiciousness and paranoia -Odd beliefs or magical thinking -Appears shy, aloof, or withdrawn to others anyone known somebody diagnosed with either of these illness, or had to deal with someone, (such as a family member), who was affected by either one of them? There's also many common symptoms between these, and other mental illnesses / personality disorders, which leads me to suspect that incorrect diagnosis may be common.

I am also wondering:-How commonly do either of these disorders occur? I also wonder if there's many instances of people with these disorders, who are never diagnosed or never seek treatment?

(Source: DSM-IV-TR)With any type of schizophrenia, the understanding, support and help of close family and friends is invaluable, and is really essential.
