BTW, vodafone UK has some cheap rates (5p/min) calling from UK to other countries. this samsung along with a cheap bluetooth gps reciever e.g.

This is what catches most people out where they forget they pay for what they recieve as well as what they make while on roaming. Looks like I'll have to keep buying sims while I'm out there.
As for Europe i would suggest a Vodafone sim when you get there they have one of the best roaming packages in europe and you dont need to keep changing numbers everytime as you would if you were to by a new sim card in every destination hey guys - thanks for all the help! Countries I'll be in; Spain, Italy, Germany, Amsterdam, Fran ce, UK while i'm in europe.
Thanks but I dont really care about unlocking as i dont want to lose it.
: Vodafone Passport you can use your mobile abroad as often as you like.
It's worth noting that the EU telecoms regulator has mandated that international roaming voice charges within Europe can't be charged above a certain per-minute rate - so with any UK network, you won't pay more than about 35p/min to call elsewhere in Europe, or 18p/min to receive, if roaming in the EU.
3 has "3 like home", so if you're in countries with a 3 network the costs are exactly the same as if you were making the calls here in Australia.
You'd have to check the normal roaming costs for other countries with no 3 network au/cs/Cont...id=1202087418757 3 UK PAYG (pre-paid) offers unmetered internet on your handset for £5/month (or £2.50/week, or 50p/day)uk/personal...hat_it_If you're after mobile broadband for use on your computer, you can also get that on 3 PAYG for £10 for 1GB, £15 for 3GB, or £25 for 7GB, with any extra data charged at £1/uk/personal...band_/You should be fine - there are no extra charges for roaming from 3 UK to the domestic GSM partner network.
All other networks run 3G as well, also with GPRS (2G) backup.
The flat rate for calls within the UK is cheaper on 3 UK (12p/min), or T-Mobile or Orange (15p/min).
